City to revisit parking and loading ordinance with council and parking authority

Jerome Skrinkowski said the city had previously drafted updates and met with the parking authority and council on earlier versions, but “since then, we have 4 new city council members,” and staff recommends repeating the coordinated review. He said the ordinance update is critical as a foundation for other zoning amendments — for example, transit‑oriented development (TOD) provisions and short‑term rental regulations — to ensure consistent parking standards across code changes.
Why it matters: parking and loading standards affect development feasibility, downtown access and how other zoning changes will be implemented. Staff indicated the draft will be updated where needed and returned to the commission for review.
No formal action was taken at the workshop.
