Board outlines next steps in administrator search; interim leadership to continue through summer

The board discussed next steps for the county administrator search after the prior search vendor paused involvement and the board interviewed a single finalist several weeks earlier.

Chair Tibbles (board chair) said there was no immediate urgency and that interim leadership had stabilized county operations. He and other commissioners praised Gary Rosimo and Ron Franz for continuing to support the county while the search proceeds.

Rosimo described a proposed path forward: notify candidates currently in the pool to confirm continued interest, accept new applicants, and resume a review process in September so the board can present a slate of finalists that month. Several commissioners suggested the board also consider internal candidates and the possibility of recruiting a deputy administrator ahead of filling the administrator post.

Commissioners asked staff to circulate the board’s process and to return with a timeline and options for vetting and interviews. The board emphasized a deliberate, non‑rushed approach and asked for continued regular updates from Rosimo and Franz.
