Senate Appropriations Committee moves nine Assembly bills to suspense file without hearings

The California State Senate Committee on Appropriations met in Room 2200 of the 0 Street Building and, without objection, moved nine Assembly bills to the committee's suspense file after authors waived presentation and no members of the public testified.

Committee staff opened the brief hearing by announcing that "the authors for all suspense measures on today's agenda have waived presentation," and reminding witnesses to limit remarks to fiscal aspects. The chair also noted, "The Department of Finance has let us know that they don't have files on any of the bills up for a hearing today, so their representative will not be present." For each bill the committee called for public testimony; in every case no one spoke in support or opposition, and there were no questions from committee members. The committee then moved each item to the suspense file "without objection," the chair said.
