The Wayzata Public Schools Board of Education amended its June 23 agenda to add an audience opportunity and unanimously approved a resolution naming Superintendent Chase Anderson as the district's identified official with authority (IOWA) for state education systems, as required by the Minnesota Department of Education.
Early in the meeting the board voted to amend the agenda to add an audience opportunity for public comment; the roll-call amendment passed. The board then heard two public commenters during the added audience opportunity period.
Superintendent Chase Anderson explained the administrative item on the agenda and referenced the Minnesota Information Technology Enterprise Identity and Access Management standard (MNIT), which requires districts to designate an identified official with authority who will assign duties and authorize external user access to MDE secure systems. Anderson asked the board to approve the attached resolution naming him to serve in that role. After a motion, the board approved the resolution by unanimous roll call.
The board thanked administrative staff for logistics that enabled remote participation; Director Valentina Ayers participated by Zoom. The designated official will be responsible for annual recertification of user access rights to Minnesota state systems and for assigning authorized access consistent with MDE requirements.
The board's vote on the agenda amendment and the resolution were procedural but required for compliance with state identity and access management rules.
