North Bend council adopts ordinance 2082 to update council rules

The North Bend City Council unanimously adopted Ordinance 2082 to amend the city council's rules governing meetings and procedures.
Staff described that under chapter 4, section 12 of the North Bend City Charter the council has authority to adopt and amend its own rules. Staff told the council the current rules were comprehensively updated by Ordinance 2052 (Sept. 28, 2021) and later amended by Ordinances 2065 (April 18, 2023) and 2075 (July 17, 2024). A revised draft incorporating council input from a June 9 work session was presented with proposed amendments shown as direct changes.
Councilors conducted a first and second reading by title and then voted to adopt Ordinance 2082. A roll call recorded all councilors voting in favor. No substantive amendments or conditions were recorded during the meeting.
