A district business-office presenter (identified in the record as the business office representative) told the board the office held Transfinder routing training for transportation staff, completed cross-training in payroll and accounts receivable, and increased electronic payments to vendors via ACH.
The presenter said Transfinder University provided two days of intensive virtual training and four hours of follow-up instruction for district transportation staff. Cross-training in payroll, tax and accounts-receivable functions continued through June 30, 2025, to assure coverage and to acclimate a recently appointed assistant director of finance to critical tasks.
On payments, the presenter said the district had 90 vendors set up on ACH and had sent 413 ACH payments to date; the change is intended to reduce processing costs and increase payment security. The presenter acknowledged questions from a board member about whether ACH payments are drawn from the main account; the office said the district currently draws ACHs from the main account but is working to set up a secondary zero-balance account for vendor pulls.
The presenter reviewed other fiscal items: renegotiated deposit rates with Tompkins (noting interest income moved from under 1 percent to near 4 percent), expanded online ticketing via Vanco to middle-school events, and the recently adopted 2025–26 general fund budget, which the district approved with a 0 percent tax increase and a 1 percent budgetary reserve.
Board members asked about language access for registration and noted next steps around bank account structure for ACH protections. The business office said it will follow up on a language-toggle question for the online portal and on creating a secondary ACH account.
