If the district gave $2,000 plus benefits to teachers and then provided the same amount to full-time classified support staff, "just if we did all of them, including the support staff, it would be ... The total would be 510,000," the staff member said, adding a breakdown of about $432,000 for classified employees and about $78,000 for the non-certified teacher category. The staff member said that figure was "500,000 more than what the state's given us."
Board members noted that about 30 licensed teachers did not meet the 50% direct-contact threshold a grant or program requires; members asked whether those 30 should be included.
