Fremont County OKs special-event alcohol permit for Fremont Adventure Recreation

CANYON CITY, Colo. — The Fremont County Board of County Commissioners voted unanimously June 24 to approve a special events alcohol permit for Fremont Adventure Recreation for a music event on June 28 at Desert Reef Hot Springs, 1194 County Road 110 in Florence.
The motion to approve was made and seconded by commissioners; in a roll call Commissioners Bell, McFaul and Grantham all voted "aye."
Applicant Katie Elder told the board servers will be TIP-certified, ID checks and wristbands will be used at the door, and that the event team has experience running similar events at the site. County clerk’s staff reported the application, submitted May 15, met the county’s timing requirements and included approvals or recommendations from public health and the sheriff’s office. The clerk noted this is the first time the location has requested the special events permit and that a detailed event-diagram was provided.
Commissioners said they had no objections to the request and called the application straightforward.
