Wright County approves FY2025-26 certified salaries, schedules interfund transfers and flags payroll adjustments

Auditor Amanda Meyer and payroll staff reviewed individual salary adjustments, noting several secondary roads employees receive longevity or probationary-step increases. The board and staff discussed one employee with a budgeted salary that will be adjusted in-house once the employee meets the contract terms; supervisors clarified the certified salary sheet reflects current certified salaries rather than in-house planned adjustments.
Supervisors approved the certified-salaries motion by recorded vote with all present voting "aye." The board also approved resolution 2025-25 to permit interfund operating transfers consistent with the budget discussions.
Separately, Andy (building and grounds) requested a transfer of $100,000 from the general basic fund into the capital projects fund to augment courthouse repairs; supervisors did not approve the transfer at the meeting but asked staff to place a resolution on the agenda next Monday so the board can act formally. The requester said the funds could be held in a six-month certificate of deposit until project timing is clearer.
Board members asked finance staff to preserve the department-level billing approach in the current budget year, and warned that moving all premiums or large items into the general supplemental fund could require a budget amendment and affect long-term levy calculations.
