Board grants consensus for superintendent to execute utility easement for new Eastside Elementary facilities

Brian Reagan presented a proposed utility easement from the referenced electric cooperative to allow placement of power infrastructure at Eastside Elementary School to serve a new classroom wing and a new cafeteria building.
Reagan said the document gives the utility a right of way (described in the presentation as a footprint “3 foot on each side of any utilities” placed there) and that the cooperative will not energize equipment until the easement is executed. Reagan said he submitted the document with Superintendent Pender’s name on it and offered the board the option of giving consensus for the superintendent to sign or requesting a formal vote.
Board members reviewed the plans and raised no objections. “Looks good. . . Mr. Pender is fine to sign it,” a board member said, and the group recorded consensus to authorize the superintendent to sign the instrument; staff noted they could bring the item back in July for a formal vote if the board preferred.
