City staff said applicants will appear at the upcoming commission meeting to seek land-use approvals.
Staff described a special-exception application for a property on the east side of Tamarac (Northwest 50 Eighth Street and West Prospect Road) to permit a minor vehicle service and repair use; the site has historically housed an auto mechanic shop, and the special exception is required for a change of ownership. The applicant is scheduled to present on Wednesday.
Separately, Sunny’s Car Wash is seeking variances for a manufacturing facility’s signage. Staff said the applicant requests letter-height up to 42 inches in lieu of the 31-inch maximum on the south elevation and seeks two façade signs on that same elevation because of the building’s size. The applicant will present the request at the Commission meeting.
No decisions were reached at the staff agenda review; staff indicated both applicants will appear at the formal meeting.
