Tamarac moves to limit funeral homes to Business Park zoning district

City staff told the June 23 staff agenda review that, following a zoning-in-progress study, the City Commission was being asked to allow funeral homes only in the Business Park zoning district.
Staff said funeral homes had been permitted in four zoning districts but a study determined the Business Park district is the most appropriate single zoning district for those uses. The ordinance on second reading would lift the moratorium and permit funeral homes only in Business Park, removing them as permitted uses in the mixed-use (MU), mixed-use commercial (MUC) and public-facilities districts.
Staff said the item will appear on the Commission agenda for second reading; no final action occurred at the staff review.
