Lubbock County commissioners approve routine budgets, claims and a range of contracts including juvenile monitoring and school services

The Lubbock County Commissioners Court on Monday approved routine minutes, budget transfers and payments of claims, accepted the county's unaudited May financial report, and authorized several contracts and grant actions.

The court voted unanimously to approve the minutes from the June 9, 2025 meeting, accept line-item transfers of $1,976,892 and budget amendments of $1,823,933.03 presented by the auditor, and to authorize payment of claims totaling $5,262,648.77. The court also accepted the county's unaudited financial report for May.

During the meeting the court approved several agreements and authorizations brought forward by staff. Commissioners authorized the county judge to sign an equipment lease and service agreement with Geostatus Inc. for electronic monitoring of juveniles; they also authorized the county judge to sign a continuing agreement with Lubbock Independent School District for educational services at the Lubbock County Juvenile Justice Center. The court accepted personnel committee recommendations on new positions and reclassifications, and approved a $1,000 bond required for the Lubbock County road commissioner, Rashadhi Moore. The court received and recessed to executive session as allowed under the Texas Government Code and later reconvened.
