The Pflugerville City Council voted to adopt the city’s strategic action plan for 2026–2030 after a months‑long public engagement and consultant process.
Consultant David Bridal (FutureIQ) and city staff summarized community outreach — more than 700 community touchpoints, youth engagement and multiple public workshops — that informed a framework of five pillars: economic & business development; mobility & infrastructure; community amenities & events; residential nodes & land use; and brand & reputation. Survey and workshop results ranked economic and business development and mobility among the highest priorities.
The plan frames a 10‑year vision and a five‑year implementation roadmap. Prominent themes include a push to capture regional commercial development on the city’s east side, creating vibrant downtown destinations tied to the city’s new civic campus, and strengthening trails and multimodal connections. The consultant and staff said they will use the strategic actions to guide department workplans, capital priorities and future budget allocations.
Council members asked that staff correct a textual error (a reference to a “falling population” that should have read “growing population”) and return any final cleanup; staff confirmed the edit had been identified and would be corrected in the final adopted document.
Ending
Council approved the strategic plan resolution. Staff said departments will begin aligning budgets and capital projects to the plan and will return with implementation details, timelines and measurable performance indicators during upcoming budget and CIP discussions.
