Councilors said staff and the zoning officer had worked with the applicant to propose moving the outdoor area to the northeast corner of the property, which would avoid taking required parking. The motion approved the license modification conditioned on the applicant providing an updated site sketch reflecting the northeast placement and that the applicant follow Community Development’s recommendations.
Applicant and staff remarks
Owner George Moreno spoke in favor of the request and told the council the outdoor seating previously existed during COVID flexibility and that he would work with staff to revise the patio layout so it did not use handicap spaces. Diane from Community Development explained the application as submitted originally proposed using two required handicap spots and described the alternative location the zoning officer recommended.
Council action
Councilor Tim moved approval on the Community Development condition, Councilor Tony seconded, and the council approved the conditional modification. Staff asked that the applicant submit the revised sketch for the clerk’s office so the record and enforcement footprint match the final configuration.
