Summary
The Mountain View Board of Library Trustees unanimously approved the proposed FY 2025–26 work plan at its June 16 special meeting; the plan will be forwarded to City Council for final approval in August.
At a June 16 special meeting, the Mountain View Board of Library Trustees voted to accept the library’s proposed fiscal-year 2025–26 work plan and forward it to City Council for approval.
Library Director Tracy Gray described the work plan as the standard annual submission that all city commissions and boards file before the fiscal year. “All of the city council awards and commissions have to do with work plan every year at the beginning of, prior to the fiscal year,” Gray said while presenting the document.
A motion to accept the plan was made and seconded; the library director then conducted a roll-call vote. Vice Chair Khalid Abasta, Board Member Sharon Su and Board Member Barbara Wiesen Baer each voted “approved.” No no votes or abstentions were recorded on the roll call. The board noted that the plan will be presented to City Council at its August meeting for formal approval.
Trustees discussed minor scheduling questions about when the board sets its annual calendar of meetings and whether to present the calendar earlier in the fall; Director Gray offered to present a shorter calendar and redline comparisons where helpful. There were no public comments and no amendments to the work plan during the meeting.
The board’s action was procedural: accepting the internal work plan and scheduling the document for the next step in the city approval process.
