Staff reports several commercial and residential projects moving forward in Payson

Planner/staff reported that a second McDonald's has been approved for construction on 800 South near Popeyes; staff said this is an additional location rather than a replacement of the existing restaurant. Spring Creek Landing (behind Jimmy John's) has received final site-plan approval and is proceeding toward construction. Staff also said a 7 Brews Coffee location is slated to begin construction on 800 South and that Fairfield Hotel & Suites has site-plan approval and is working toward a preconstruction meeting for coordinated infrastructure work near the freeway and Walmart.
Other updates included a new Snapper Mexican Grill grand opening on Main Street, a reception center that completed a ribbon-cutting sequence (licensing in process), and a reported schedule for the library parking lot paving expected around mid-July (paving may be completed earlier, but landscaping and ancillary work could keep areas closed). Staff also mentioned an innovation center (makerspace/startup space) leasing about 3,000 square feet in the Emtek building and said the city will publicize details as projects become publicly available.
