The Tiburon Town Council on June 18 adopted a resolution confirming the fiscal year 2025–26 assessment for the Cypress Hollow Landscape and Lighting District, keeping the annual per‑parcel assessment at $378.
Town staff told the council the district, created in 1990 by the County of Marin and annexed by Tiburon in 1998, covers 44 parcels and funds maintenance of the Cypress Hollow park, entry landscaping and boundary irrigation. The district’s estimated expenditures for the coming year are roughly $37,000, with an estimated beginning fund balance of approximately $28,000 and projected revenues of $16,632 from parcel assessments. Staff said no town general‑fund contribution is being requested; the estimated ending fund balance for June 30, 2026, is about $7,000.
During the public hearing staff explained the three‑step process required by law: preparation of an annual engineer’s report, setting a public hearing, and adopting a resolution that confirms assessments and transmits them to the county assessor’s office. There were no public speakers who requested changes; council then voted to adopt the resolution and order the levy and collection of assessments.
Ending: The council’s resolution authorizes staff to transmit the confirmed assessments to the County of Marin for collection on the next tax roll.
