Appleton Public Library presents 2024 annual report and early new-building usage figures

The Appleton Public Library board reviewed the library’s 2024 annual report at its June 17 meeting and discussed how the report highlights the new building’s early usage.
A staff member said the board members each had a copy and described the report’s format: a message from Colleen, a by-the-numbers comparison tying 2024 to the first month the new building was open (Feb. 15–March 15) and short feature stories aligned to the library’s strategic pillars. The presenter said the comparison was included because the report would be published well into the new building’s opening and the first-month usage numbers were “so timely.”
The report also thanks the Friends group for funding many programs and services and notes the Friends sometimes act as fiscal agents for grants when applicants must be a 501(c)(3). The presenter said the report will be published on the library’s website and is used in meetings with stakeholders.
Trustees complimented the readability of the report; no formal action was taken beyond receiving the report as information.
