Council approves summer camp hires, DPW appointment and planning/finance board vacancies

The council approved hiring Brian Shea as assistant summer camp director and a list of seasonal camp counselors (names recorded in meeting minutes). The motion to hire the camp staff passed on roll-call votes. The council also approved hiring Arthur Burton as a Department of Public Works truck driver/laborer; Burton spoke briefly and said he looked forward to serving the town. The hiring motions were recorded and passed unanimously among voting members present.
On board appointments, the council appointed Nancy Hess to the Planning Board for a term ending Jan. 31, 2026; members noted Hess’s professional planning background and past service on the town’s planning board. The council also appointed Jeffrey W. Noble to the Finance Board with a term expiring Nov. 30, 2029; Noble told the council he previously served on the Board of Tax Assessment Review and said he hoped to improve public communication on the budget process. The council approved renewals for senior activities committee members including Joanne Burgess and Jacqueline Lombardo, and accepted resignations from Christine Donahue and Karen Pinch with regret.
Each hiring or appointment was recorded in a formal motion and approved by roll-call vote.
