CSLB approves meeting minutes and elects board officers for 2025–26 fiscal year

The Contractors State License Board approved four sets of prior meeting minutes by a single combined vote and elected officers for the 2025–26 term during its June 13 meeting.
The board voted to approve the minutes and summaries covering: March 14, 2025 (board meeting minutes), April 11, 2025 (executive enforcement and legislative teleconference committee meeting summary), April 11, 2025 (special meeting board minutes), and May 15, 2025 (licensing and public affairs teleconference committee meeting summary). A motion to approve the four items was moved by Rodney Coates and seconded by Steve Finelli; the roll call vote was recorded as passing.
The board then considered nominations for officers for the July 1, 2025–June 30, 2026 term. The two‑person nominations committee (Diana Love and Mary Tigard) recommended Miguel Garza for chair, Allen Guy for vice chair, and Rodney Coates for secretary. With no alternate nominations from the floor, the board closed nominations and voted to install the slate. Miguel Garza made a brief statement about his time in the industry, saying in part, "it's been about 35 years that I've been a licensed contractor... I'm honored to be nominated." Allen Guy was not present due to an excused scheduling conflict; Diana Love read a statement on his behalf noting his prior committee service and support for the nomination. Rodney Coates spoke briefly about his service in the United Association of Plumbers and his work on the enforcement committee.
The motions to install each officer passed by roll call. The meeting included multiple thank‑you remarks to the outgoing chair; the outgoing chair noted this was his final meeting in that role and reflected on enforcement work and addressing the underground economy.
