Committee approves amendment to South Main Market District task order to prepare rebid

Transportation director Greg Bindable told the committee staff received only one bid when the South Main Street Market District project was first advertised in January and, after a two-week extension, no additional bids arrived. City review determined the single bid was too high, so staff proposed reducing project limits and revising the plan set to rebid.
The committee approved a second amendment to a task order with Duberry Engineers for additional plan and bid-document work. Duberry's lump-sum fee for the additional services was reported as $56,600 and funds were available in the current budget. Bindable said the amendment covers the work needed to produce revised plans and bid documents for a rebid.
A council member noted an inconsistent spelling in the scope document; staff said they would correct it. The motion to approve the amendment passed by voice vote.
