City approves purchase of larger commercial water meters to support AMI rollout

Customer service director Jeremy Coble told the finance committee the city will purchase 1-inch, 1.5-inch and 2-inch water meters for commercial and industrial sites to support a change-out program and compatibility with the city's advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) rollout.
Coble said the meters have high accuracy and are compatible with the city's current meter reading and AMI processes. Staff recommended approval of meters from Badger Meter Incorporated for $122,267.50; funds are available in the customer service budget. The committee approved the purchase by voice vote.
There were no questions raised about the procurement during the meeting.
