Three minor modifications to detailed plan developments and one change to an existing detailed plan were presented and advanced by the committee without objection.
Valley Power Plant (We Energies): Department of City Development staff presented a minor modification to the Valley Power Plant detailed plan development to allow placement of an above‑ground water/wastewater storage tank on an existing paved area and to add an enclosure for a safety shower serving chemical unloading operations at 1019 West Canal Street. DCD said the tank supports stormwater/wastewater storage needs identified by the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District. Committee members asked whether the tank or shower would affect utility rates; We Energies representatives said they did not anticipate a rate impact.
Park Place, Stage 19 (business park signage): Staff presented a minor modification to increase the number and size of allowable building wall signs on a multi‑tenant building within Park Place Stage 19, changing a one‑sign/32‑square‑foot limit to up to four signs of up to 60 square feet each to accommodate multi‑tenant signage. City plan commission had unanimously recommended the change.
Brady Corporation (monument sign update): A proposal to update and relocate an on‑site monument sign for Brady Corporation’s headquarters was presented, including an electronic changeable message sign with on‑site limits (no motion/video display) and message timing limits (no faster than once every eight seconds). The plan commission unanimously recommended approval.
Committee action: Each minor modification was advanced after staff and applicants described the site‑specific rationale; motions to recommend adoption passed by voice vote with no recorded objections.
Ending: The items are technical zoning adjustments meant to align existing development with current tenant and operational needs and do not change underlying land‑use entitlements.
