Applicant seeks driveway-spacing variance on Lehi Road; staff record no objections, county engineer to decide

An applicant requested a variance on Lehi Road to install a driveway with a centerline separation of roughly 52.7 feet from the neighboring driveway, short of the county code’s 100-foot driveway-separation requirement, the Development Review Committee heard June 17.
Caleb Hurst of Development Services presented the request and showed the proposed driveway location relative to an adjacent residence. Hurst said the site plan shows a 52.7-foot separation and noted the county’s standard is 100 feet between driveways.
Constance Lake of the Building Department, Stephanie Kaiser of Planning, Rodney Esparza of the Health Department and other staff recorded no comment on Tab B during the DRC meeting. Hurst said staff would follow up with Fire and Rescue to confirm whether they had comments and would forward the DRC feedback to the county engineer for a final determination on the variance.
No formal motion or vote was recorded by the DRC; the committee serves in an advisory capacity and does not issue final approvals. The county engineer and any required permitting authorities will make the final decision on whether to grant a variance.
