At its regular meeting, the Paradise Valley Unified School District governing board approved several items by voice vote, including two inter-district agreements and a batch of site donations.
Resolution No. 576 authorized an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) to join the Arizona Assessment Collaborative (ASAC) for the 2025-26 school year. The district said joining ASAC will provide standards-aligned assessments, practice test materials (including practice AzELLA), data tools and professional development, with complimentary conference registration for up to four staff. The board approved the IGA by voice vote; staff recommended approval.
Resolution No. 577 approved a memorandum of understanding with Arizona State University to establish a career and technical education engineering partnership at Pinnacle High School. The agreement allows students to take ASUuniversity-level engineering courses via ASUuniversal learning over four years and gives them the option to transcript courses for ASU credit (tuition and transcript fees are handled through ASU). The board discussed invoicing and noted a nominal $25 option for students to take the course experience without paying full tuition; if students choose to transcript the course for college credit they pay ASU tuition. The board approved the MOU by voice vote.
The board also accepted several gifts and donations at district sites, including a $5,000 education grant to Liberty Elementary, $1,500 at Palomino Primary, and a $2,500 contribution from the National Junior Honor Society to Cheyenne Traditional School's site discretionary fund. The motions to accept donations passed unanimously.
All three actions passed without recorded dissent.
