Perryton ISD board approves minutes, safety window film work and policy update 125

The Perryton ISD Board of Trustees on Tuesday approved three routine but required measures: the minutes of the May regular meeting, completion of remaining safety window‑film caulking and Policy Update 125. All votes were unanimous.
Board members first approved the minutes from the May regular meeting. The board then moved to consider payment and completion of caulking required after the district vulnerability assessor identified missing sealing around installed safety film. Superintendent Brown said the work is required to bring the district into compliance and that the cost will be paid from previously allotted safety funds. “We have to do this to be in compliance,” Brown said. The board voted to approve the installation and purchase of the remaining window film caulking, 7–0.
The board also approved Policy Update 125 as presented, accepting wording changes the district attorney team and TASB had recommended, including small local clarifications. Brown said many of the changes are clarifications or reflect new state law and that local policies remain within the board’s authority. The vote to adopt Policy Update 125 carried 7–0.
Minutes: motion to approve the board’s May regular meeting minutes was moved and seconded and carried, 7–0.
Safety window film: motion to approve remaining safety film caulking and installation as presented; funding to come from district safety funds previously allotted. Motion passed, 7–0.
Policy Update 125: motion to approve the policy changes as presented; motion passed, 7–0.
No other formal votes were taken during open session; the board later convened for a closed session on personnel, legal consultation and real property.
