City staff (identified in the meeting as Ahmed) told the council the ordinance had been introduced at the June 2 meeting and that the update raises outdated dollar thresholds to account for inflation and bring procurement practices current. Staff recommended adoption of an amendment to Ordinance No. 17-04-742 of the Tehachapi Municipal Code.
There were no public comments on the second reading. A council member moved adoption and the ordinance passed on voice/roll-call vote recorded as 4-0.
The ordinance will amend the municipal code purchasing thresholds as described in staff materials; staff offered to answer questions and none were raised.
