At the city council meeting the public comment period included a request from a resident of Indian Springs, who asked the city to accelerate short‑term drainage fixes after microburst storms flooded streets, yards and vehicles.
Valerie Frazier, identifying her address in Indian Springs, said recent microbursts produced curb‑deep flooding that overwhelmed the neighborhood’s drainage system, causing yard erosion and blocked access for some residents. She said she and her HOA vice president met with Patrick Wilson, stormwater division manager, who toured the neighborhood and identified overwhelmed drains and erosion on the nearby golf course.
Frazier asked for short‑term repairs while longer studies and potential bond funding proceed. City staff acknowledged the issue and said photos and video taken by staff and the resident had been shared with departments; Patrick Wilson and other staff walked the neighborhood the day after the storm. Staff said studies are required for long‑term solutions and that short‑term fixes were discussed with the HOA. No immediate capital funding decision was made during the meeting.
Council and staff thanked the resident for raising the issue and confirmed staff would continue to investigate and coordinate with the HOA on short‑term measures and longer‑term capital planning.
