Heartland AEA recognizes North Polk partnership on cybersecurity

Witchman told the board the district and Heartland have worked closely “focusing with professionalism and care to ensure that you have a successful, safe, security posture in your district.” She said cybersecurity work is often a full‑time job for dedicated staff and that the partnership helps districts that cannot budget for a full‑time large‑scale security team. "Their work isn't always visible, Scott's, but it is absolutely essential and cannot be overlooked," Witchman said.
Superintendent Michael Klein and board members thanked Witchman and Heartland AEA for the partnership and presented a framed certificate; board members noted the partnership helps the district identify vulnerabilities, update systems and develop policies. The district’s technology director, Scott, was recognized during the presentation for his role in the partnership.
Ending The board took a group photo after the presentation and expressed appreciation for Heartland AEA’s support on cybersecurity; no action items were recorded beyond the recognition and photo opportunity.
