JFAC accepts technical corrections to CEC recommendation letter by unanimous consent

The Joint Finance‑Appropriations Committee on Jan. 13 unanimously accepted technical corrections to the Committee on Employee Compensation (CEC) recommendation letter.

Frances Lippett, budget and policy analyst with Legislative Services, told the committee the revised memo fixes several drafting errors. "The committee's recommendation was to fund a salary increase for state employees of a dollar 55 per hour per FTP," Lippett said, and she clarified that language in the letter removing earlier, unintended flexibility. She also said the committee's action to recommend a 4.5% market‑based increase for IT and engineering employees "is in addition to that dollar 55 per hour per FTP."

The corrections were presented as technical adjustments to match what the committee actually voted on in recent meetings. After the corrected language was offered, the chair asked for unanimous consent to accept the technical revisions; with no objection, the chair said, "it is so ordered."
