Chief of enforcement Steve Grove summarized field activity in wildfire areas and across the state. Grove said CSLB’s SWIFT (Statewide Investigative Fraud Team) — roughly 27 proactive investigators — conducted sweeps and undercover operations, responding to tips and staffing disaster recovery centers. He said enforcement staff recorded a modest number of unlicensed contractors in the fire areas during the sweeps and planned additional undercover sting operations in rebuilding neighborhoods.
