Hartford council postpones approval of May 21 minutes after member cites omissions

Gale told the council he had not previously raised concerns about minutes but that the May 21 minutes did not describe amendments made during the budget discussion and that one nonfinancial resolution’s recorded vote did not match his recollection. "The substance of the amendments should be, in the minutes," he said during debate.
Council members voted to amend the original motion to accept all three sets of minutes and instead approve only the May 12 and May 27 minutes; the amended motion passed on a roll call. The council directed Councilman Gale to work with the town clerk to correct the May 21 minutes for consideration at the next meeting. The clerk called the roll on the amended motion and announced the motion passed.
The council did not adopt the May 21 minutes at the meeting; members agreed to revisit the item once the clerk has revised the record.
The council’s action leaves the May 21 minutes as "postponed" in the public record until the clerk provides the corrected text and vote tallies for council review and formal acceptance.
