Ohio senator seeks to designate April as Counseling Awareness Month

The sponsor said the designation could support efforts to “destigmatize mental health” and help attract young people to the counseling profession to meet rising demand.
Senator Blackshear told the committee the bill had passed the Ohio House in the previous general assembly but was not enacted when session time ran out; the senator asked the committee to move the measure forward this session. No committee questions were recorded and the committee concluded the sponsor testimony with no vote recorded.
