Planning staff told the commission June 11 that the public-review period for the draft comprehensive-plan update closed that day and that staff had compiled seven pages of public comments for commissioners to review. Landon Bartley said the comments largely aligned with existing draft priorities and that staff expects to present revised draft text and proposed next steps at the commission's June 25 meeting, with a public hearing targeted for July 9.
Bartley said the comments covered typical plan topics including housing, transportation and climate resilience. He noted suggestions regarding accessory dwelling units, pedestrian and bicycle improvements, and reintroducing "wellhead protection" language from the city's 2018 plan into climate-resilience sections. Bartley described the comments as generally positive and consistent with planning best practices and said staff will continue to accept comments but will pass those received by June 11 to the commission and City Council for consideration.
Commissioners signaled support for the schedule: review on June 25 and a planning-commission public hearing in July. Bartley said staff will re-send the draft plan link and include the compiled comments in the next packet.
