Council actions: appropriation increase adopted; budget hearing continued; RDA public hearing closed; minutes approved

Sandy City Council completed several formal actions on June 3, 2025. Key outcomes:

- Resolution to increase appropriations for FY 2024–25 adopted. The council voted to adopt "resolution 20 five-twenty 2 C, a resolution increasing total appropriations for the fiscal year commencing 07/01/2024 and ending 06/30/2025." The motion was made by Council Member Meekum and seconded by Council Member Sharkey. The council conducted a roll-call vote with recorded "Yes" votes from Meekum, Sharkey, De Souza, DeKeyser, Stroud, Robinson and Hausman; the motion carried 7–0.

- FY 2025–26 budget public hearing continued. Council Member Sharkey moved to continue the public hearing on the FY 2025–26 budget to the June 10 meeting; Council Member Robinson seconded. The motion carried by roll call vote 7–0.

- Sandy City Redevelopment Agency (RDA) public hearing closed; RDA budget adoption deferred. During the RDA portion of the meeting, staff recommended not continuing the RDA hearing on a week-to-week basis. The RDA public hearing was closed by vote; the board did not adopt the RDA budget that evening and will schedule an RDA adoption item when the city budget adoption date is set.

- Minutes approved. The council approved the minutes from March 11, 2025 by voice vote.

Votes and movers are recorded as captured in the meeting transcript. No ordinance adoptions or other final legislative actions on land use were approved at the June 3 meeting; the Jordan Credit Union rezone was presented as an informational item and scheduled for final action on June 10.

The council will reconvene June 10 to continue the budget public hearing and consider any amendments or final adoption.
