The Syracuse Planning Commission voted to table the Jones subdivision plat so the item can be scheduled for a required public hearing at a later meeting. Planning staff said the Jones Subdivision needs a public hearing and that the commission cannot vote on the plat at the present meeting.
Staff explained that a hearing had previously been scheduled and postponed, and recommended rescheduling the public hearing (staff noted June 17 as the next meeting date). Commissioners moved and seconded a motion to table the item; the motion passed by voice vote.
The commission and staff agreed to hold the public hearing at the next available meeting and to bring the item back after public notice and hearing requirements have been met. No substantive debate about the merits of the Jones plat occurred on the record; the action was procedural to allow the required hearing to occur.
