The motion was moved and seconded and commissioners voted by voice — the chair called for ayes and the motion passed.
Pride Month: The board approved a proclamation recognizing June 2025 as Pride Month. Adriana Guerrero, board chair of the Lower Columbia Q Center, and Benedito de Francesco, executive director, described services the nonprofit provides for 2SLGBTQIA+ residents (drop‑in services, peer groups and outreach) and listed planned Pride events including a gala, a block party and a march. Commissioners moved and seconded the proclamation and voted in favor by voice vote; the chair signed the proclamation.
Why it matters: The proclamations formally recognize community groups and call attention to county support for seniors and LGBTQ+ residents; presenters asked the public and elected officials to participate in and support local programs and Pride events.
