The Rogers County Board of Commissioners voted to remove the rock portion of a six-month Road & Bridge materials bid and rebid that item while awarding the remainder of the materials to the low bidders listed in the department’s bid tabulation.
Commissioner Richard Delozier moved to “throw out the bed and rebid the rock,” and Commissioner De Loser seconded. The motion carried with commissioners recorded as voting aye; the board then approved awarding the remaining items to the low bidders as presented.
According to the bid summary read into the record by county staff, corrugated poly pipe and plastic pipe FOB and delivered low bids went to DP Supply, with Dub Ross receiving the low delivered bids for 36-inch and 48-inch plastic pipe. Oklahoma Precast was the sole bidder for 8-foot box culverts. Steel pipe bids were listed as the railroad yard (only bidder). Road salt delivery low bids for fine salt were awarded to Hutchinson Salt Company and for medium salt to Williams Diversified Materials; FOB salt low bids also went to Hutchinson. All traffic striping was awarded to Advanced Work Zone as the only bidder reported.
The board said it would seek more bidders for future solicitations but noted there were limited bids for some items. Commissioners also noted no bids were received on certain precast box culvert sizes (five-foot and other sizes), and on sand for some categories.
The board’s actions direct staff to proceed with awards as stated and to reissue a solicitation limited to the rock portion of the original bid.
The bids cover supplies and materials for July 1 through Dec. 31 for the county’s Road & Bridge program; specific contract documents and vendor award letters were not read into the public record during the meeting.
Votes and formal motions on the item were recorded during the regular meeting session.
