City staff told the council Dec. 9 that an agenda-management system is fully implemented and has improved internal workflows and public access to meeting materials and video segments. Staff asked incoming council members to take agenda-management training and noted a rotating agenda-management meeting of the mayor, council president and a rotating council member has been reinstated.
On human-resources systems, staff said the city's PeopleGuru human-resource information system (HRIS) will deploy its payroll module in December, with additional modules rolling out over the subsequent four to five months. Staff said the HRIS will migrate processes away from spreadsheets and paper to a centralized database and that the system is already available to many employees for testing.
Staff and councilors praised the cross-departmental work that made both projects possible and said the changes aim to improve staff efficiency and public transparency.
