Assembly proclaims July 2025 ‘Parks Make Life Better Month’

Assemblymember Quirk Silva spoke in support, saying parks provide vital shared space for families and communities and noting local efforts to conserve open land in Fullerton. The resolution recognizes parks as sites for recreation, reflection and cross-generational connection but does not create a funding stream or regulatory requirement; it is a ceremonial observance.
ACR 68 and its coauthors affirm the state’s interest in promoting access to parks and waterways and encourage local governments and organizations to observe the month. The resolution was entered on the Assembly file and will be part of the legislative journal for May 14, 2025.
The measure is largely symbolic and aims to highlight existing investments and partnerships in park operations and stewardship across the state.
