Washington County staff and partners were recognized June 3 for national transportation industry honors awarded by WTS (formerly Women’s Transportation Seminar). Kevin Peterson, the county’s design engineer, introduced awards presented to county staff and to the Metro Gold Line project team.
The county congratulated Erin (full name as given in the record) for a Woman to Watch award that the county described as honoring mid-career professionals who have made notable contributions to transportation and local infrastructure. County leaders also highlighted a team award recognizing the Metro Gold Line project for innovative transportation solutions; county presenters said the project team included many women in leadership roles and credited the broad partnership with Ramsey County, cities, Metro Transit and MnDOT.
Board members commended staff and contractors for the Gold Line delivery, mentioning on-time and under-budget performance and the role the project plays in transit capacity in the east metro. Commissioners invited staff and project partners for a group photo at the dais.
