- Emergency Medical Services Week proclamation (designating May 18–24, 2025) - National Public Works Week proclamation (designating May 18–24, 2025) - Approval of the meeting agenda as presented - Approval of the consent agenda, which included warrants in the amount of $5,706,475, a records disposition request, an amendment to a service agreement with the Southeast Florida Behavioral Health Network for opioid settlement funds, and submission of an E‑911 state grant application for RapidSOS (items listed on the consent agenda) - Resolution 2025‑22: authorize online publication of legally required advertisements and public notices under Florida Statute chapter 50 (public hearing held; board approved permitting online publication with exceptions for specified land‑use notices) - Fee-waiver request for use of the C. Scott Driver Facility by “Quarters for a Cause” on June 17 and July 15 (approved) - Pine Ridge Park paving restoration cost-share agreement with Okeechobee Utility Authority (50/50 cost split; OUA share noted at $149,839.50; agreement approved and invoice issued to OUA) - Acceptance and execution of the Florida Department of Management Services E911 Spring 2025 Rural Grant (grant number 25-04-32) to offset maintenance costs of the county PSAP in the amount of $122,996.59 and adoption of Resolution 2025‑23 to amend the FY2024‑25 budget to appropriate the funds - Authorization for the road superintendent and county engineer to require immediate repair of County Road 700A by Irby Construction at the contractor’s expense (emergency authorization approved) - Motion to submit a FEMA SAFER grant application to request funding for 13 firefighter positions (board approved application submittal)
Several other routine updates, project reports and discussions took place during the meeting, including construction progress on the county jail expansion and community services and parks updates.
If awarded, grant acceptances and contract signatures for specific items will return to the board for formal acceptance and execution where required.
