At the close of the July 3 meeting, the Rankin County Planning Commission voted to enter executive session to discuss economic development personnel matters.
A commissioner asked that the board consider going into executive session to allow a supervisor under a tight deadline to participate in time-sensitive economic development discussions. The commission made and seconded a motion to recess and then to convene in executive session under the economic-development exception. "This will be under our economic development component of our executive session authorization," a commissioner said, and commissioners voted in favor; the chair announced the motion carried and the commission adjourned to executive session.
No substantive details from the executive session were discussed in the public record at the July 3 meeting. The commission said it would resume public business after the closed meeting.
