Megan said the plan repurposes the existing community room for a demonstration kitchen with a double oven, cooktop on an island facing the audience and related appliances; the proposed telehealth space will be an ADA‑accessible study room equipped with a video link and a blood‑pressure cuff for remote consults. The design adds four new study rooms, a teen center and storage to reconfigure the classroom footprint. Mock‑ups shown to the committee include a modernized circulation desk, reconfigured staff workroom, new multi‑stall restrooms and a relocated community classroom.
Megan said the architect submitted the plans to the grant reviewer and the state; following state approval the project will go to bid. The timeline presented shows final work and occupant re‑entry targeted for May or June 2026. Megan said some technology upgrades are tied to a separate grant that will help fund computers and higher internet capacity; she will coordinate with county IT for wiring and bandwidth improvements.

Megan said the architect will attend the July meeting for a more technical briefing and that staff will coordinate logistics (including temporary restroom access during construction) once the state’s reviewer signs off.
