ELMAC approves March minutes and designates Priscilla as waiver committee representative

Portland's ELMAC (the local land-care advisory committee) approved its prior meeting minutes and agreed that Priscilla will serve as a temporary representative to the committee that handles waiver requests.

The committee approved the March 4 minutes after a motion and a second; committee members in attendance—Melissa, Avery, Troy, Carly and Priscilla—voted in favor. Committee members noted a typographical error in the draft minutes that listed the wrong year and said staff will correct it in the posted record.

The appointment discussion followed an update that member Avery expects to be out of town and may not be available to serve on waiver requests for a stretch. A committee member nominated Priscilla to step in "in that capacity," and other members agreed; the committee indicated consensus on the temporary assignment rather than recording a formal roll-call vote.

Members also confirmed there will not be a meeting next month and said they will schedule the next full meeting for June or July.

The committee's waiver panel reviews requests that seek exceptions to land-care rules; members discussed the need for continuity while regular members are unavailable. Priscilla said she was willing to serve and noted concerns about pesticide impacts, citing Roundup by name during the meeting.
