The Collegedale City Beer Board continued a disciplinary hearing for Georgie’s Pizzeria, 5910 Reagan Lane, until the board’s June 16 meeting to allow a cited server to attend a pending court appearance.
During the hearing the board asked whether anything said at the beer-board proceeding could be used in the server’s criminal case. City attorney Sam advised that “it’s the individual server who would have been cited for the violation” and that proceeding tonight could prompt the server to waive constitutional protections; Sam suggested allowing the server to address the court first. The board agreed and moved to continue the hearing to the June 16 meeting.
Board members recorded a roll call in favor of the continuance: Commissioner Baker — yes; Commissioner House — yes; Commissioner Johnson — yes; Vice Mayor Sadler — yes. The board noted Sergeant Harris from the Police Department may attend the June 16 hearing to provide the investigative record.
