The Collegedale City Beer Board voted to approve a beer-permit application for Board and Brush after staff said the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) background check and paperwork were in order.
Board members approved the application even though the named applicant, Miss McKenna Wallace, was not present. A family member who said she was Wallace’s daughter spoke on her behalf and said Wallace was out of state in Wisconsin.
City attorney Sam noted that “when that [TBI] checks out you kind of automatically grant it.” Administrative staff member Michelle confirmed that “everything was good” with the submitted paperwork. A motion to approve passed on a roll call vote: Commissioner Baker — yes; Commissioner House — abstain; Commissioner Johnson — yes; Vice Mayor Sadler — yes.
The board did not discuss any additional conditions for the permit during the hearing. The board moved on to other agenda items after the vote.
