Milford staff to hold July open house as part of general plan update after 145 survey responses

Milford planning staff told the Planning and Zoning Commission on June 11 that the general-plan update is progressing and an open house for public feedback will be held in July.
Planning and Zoning Administrator Lisa Thompson said staff and Ryker of Sunrise Engineering have drafted goals based on a community survey. "We only received 145 surveys back," she said, and noted the consultant told staff Milford had a stronger response than some larger cities. Thompson said the consultant will present examples and solicit feedback at the open house; after public input and plan writing, the draft will come back to the Planning Commission for public hearings and then to the City Council.
Thompson encouraged commissioners to attend the open house and to provide feedback on the draft goals. No dates were set at the meeting; staff said they would circulate confirmed dates once scheduled.
The commission did not take action on the plan at the June 11 meeting; the update remains at the public-engagement stage.
