Residents press council on cemetery drainage, roadside trash and visible encampment

Other comments asked the city to follow up on trash and construction debris from a Comfort Inn remodel that has blown across adjacent flats. A speaker said they had collected multiple loads of litter and suggested the hotel should ensure contractors contain and remove debris.
Speakers also raised pedestrian-safety and trash concerns along a commercial corridor, noting that some businesses lack curb and gutter and that people walking into town must use the highway shoulder in parts. A request was made to encourage businesses to keep sidewalks passable and to consider curb installation where feasible.
One resident asked whether a fence had been installed on the east side of a Maverik (gas/convenience) property to limit windblown debris; staff said they would check. A separate comment concerned sleeping bags and a small group camping near the town entrance; staff and council noted prior conversations about locations used by people experiencing homelessness and the limited legal options for relocation without shelter availability.
A final maintenance item noted decorative planters by the post office showing base deterioration; a resident requested repair before collapse.
Council and staff acknowledged the concerns and said they would check on culvert needs, follow up with businesses about debris containment and trash receptacles, and continue conversations about pedestrian safety and campsite locations. No formal motions or policy changes were made during the meeting regarding these issues.
